01 / In our own words

The story
behind the photo.

Our original caption

Epic trip away with Shannon and Milo, you’d think these were beaches in Greece rather than Scotland. We spent the first night on the way here at Glencoe Mountain Resort just up from Fort William before making our way here for the following night. This was a place for £11 a night right on the beach front at Clachtoll. We explored the sights here, seeing lots of Jelly fish and watched the sunset. #camper #camperlife #camperlifestyle #campervan #campervans #camperconversion #camperlove #transit #transitcustom #transitcamper #fordtransit ##clachtollbeach #clachtoll #lochinver #glencoemountainresort #fortwilliam

The rock behind the name

Clachtoll's name refers to the Split Rock across the bay. The gap was once a natural arch, which later collapsed.

A working shoreline

Am Bearag, the Salmon Bothy, was a base for Clachtoll's salmon fishermen during the 19th and 20th centuries.
